If you are looking for a service provider who “stays in their lane” of offering 1:1 services only, we may not be the community for you.

BUT… if you are looking for a team equipped to “ride or die” each step of the way from 1:1 to fully launched, you’d better give us a call right away.  Warning: saying YES may result in dreaming big, discovering independence, surprise adventures, new friendships, and big moves in education, career & relationships.

All of the services below are led by Jeff Willis (Owner/Founder), Liam Barnes (Director) and led by the same core instructor/mentor team.

Spring & Summer Break: Fireside Adventures

Fireside Adventures and BTT are under the same company (Creative Toolbox). Fireside offers spring break and summer camps:

  • With options for ages 6 all the way to young adults (Gen Z Travels)
  • Spanning BC, Yukon & five continents

How does this connect to Between the Trees mentorship services?
It’s very common for BTT learners to focus on preparing for and/or integrating into Fireside trips. These services are eligible for AFU funding (up to age 18). 

Sep–Jun: VOS Fieldschool & Fieldschool Extension

The Fieldschool Project is part of Vancouver Outdoor School, which is the sister company of Fireside Adventures.

Located in Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, Surrey & Delta, Fieldschool offers full-day outdoor & community-based experiential learning with flexible options Tue–Fri. Groups of 10–12 learners (1:6 learner-to-instructor ratio). Fieldschool serves both home learning families and families who are in brick-and-mortar schools, but prefer to join on a drop-in basis.

How does this connect to Between the Trees mentorship services?
From Sep–Jun, joining Fieldschool is the logical next step after BTT. 90% of BTT learners are aiming to join Fieldschool.

Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is the world’s largest youth leadership award. It is recognized by employers, colleges, and universities. The Award encourages personal growth, community engagement, and adventurous pursuits. Tailored for ages 13-24, this prestigious award cultivates resilience, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility.

How does this connect to Between the Trees mentorship services?

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award can actually be earned during BTT sessions, meaning it is a no-brainer if the learner is 13 years or older.
